Check the card back directly: real card on the right, fake on the left. Genuine backs have a warm milky yellow tone; fakes are cold bluish white. Normal rune cards can also be compared this way.

Gloss difference: real cards have a subtle semi-gloss finish; fakes are almost matte.

Strange but true detail: genuine cards often have slight rough edges, while counterfeits have overly clean, sharp cuts.

These are the most obvious differences. With a magnifying glass, check the back printing: genuine print is slightly blurry with a sprayed texture, while fakes look unnaturally sharp and clear.

Gold foil rune details: Real foil has slight color inconsistency between purple and green parts. Overall, genuine gold looks fused into the card material; fake gold sits flat on the surface like a printed layer.

The front artwork is nearly identical — texture and embossing are perfectly copied. It’s honestly quite frightening.

I suspect original printing files or insider data were leaked. The emboss texture and CMYK color matching are way too precise to be regular bootlegs. Riftbound’s card production is already more complex than PTCG/OTCG, so these advanced fakes are extra dangerous. Please be extra careful trading or purchasing high-value alternate art cards.
